Edgar Froese
Macula Transfer

the super rare Manikin release and the new counterfeit.

OK, we all know the story about the (semi-)official release of Edgar's Macula Transfer CD back in the year 98. During the last months a new version emerged on the market.

This - new - version is a counterfeit !

I know, the original Manikin release sometimes reaches a price of more than 150 US $! But now, you will find this fake on Ebay for the same amount of money. This is why I wrote this warning. Don`t pay overdrawn prices for this fake. It' s a rip-off!

Here`s the difference:

The original Manikin release 1998

(click to enlarge, back-key for this page) (click to enlarge, back-key for this page) (click to enlarge, back-key for this page)
Front Cover:
Sharp aliasing, black tray. Origin blue color.
Rear Side:
Sharp aliasing, origin blue color, the year
1998 is cut off (you see half of the digit).
CD:
Factory pressed surface. Keenly edges.
Matrix #: BOD MRCD 7030 IFPI  L357

The counterfeit from 2001

(click to enlarge, back-key for this page) (click to enlarge, back-key for this page)
Front Cover:
Aliasing is blurred, color is green/blue.
Rear Side:
Aliasing is blurred, wrong colors, too.
CD:
Looks like a bad scanned surface of the original. Matrix #: MRCD 7030

On the CD label you will see the widest difference to the original Manikin release. The writing on the edge of the cd is so poor, you can't even read the copyright-notes. This is NOT a CDR. It's a factory pressed disk!
